Anne of Green Gables

Today we went to the play "Anne of Green Gables" at the Boise Little Theater. This is one of my all time favorite movies. I have watched it many, many times. I went with Amy and Grandma G. It was really good and we had a great time. The girl who played Anne did an amazing job. She could have passed as the Anne from the movie.

Parker and Dad went and played golf and went to Cabella's. Parker I think is still a little too young to sit through a 2 hour play and David was happy not to go. I forgot my camera so I took pictures with Grandma G's camera. I will have to post those later.

While we were waiting for the show to start I was telling Grandma and Amy how that at the Starlight Mountain Theater if you buy a licorice rope you will get kissed by one of the boys. Amy's eyes lit up and she said, "I want to go there and buy some." She is going to kill her dad.

Boise Depot

On Thursday we went to the Boise Train Depot to give David a chance to take his mind off his test that was the next morning. (Which by the way he passed! He is so happy and so are we.) The kids played around and enjoyed climbing on the rocks around the water. It made me a bit nervous and I made a comment to Amy as she was leaning down to touch the water. I told her, "Be careful I don't want to be fishing you out of there." Parker matter factly states, "Yea, and we don't even have our fishing poles. We would have to go all the way home to get them." I just laughed out loud! Kids say the cutest things. They can't wait to go back and check out the inside sometime.

Elk's summer party

This year my work had the summer picnic at a really fun place.  The kids had fun playing in the water and playing on the slide.  They reserved the slide so they kid and adults (I went down many times myself) could go down as much as they wanted for an hour.  It was a great slide because it didn't land into a pool of water so I didn't have to catch the kids at the bottom.
 Parker swimming around.
Parker found a stick to play with.  He is always finding sticks to play with.

4th of July parade

Every year we go to Melba for their 4th of July parade.  The kids love it, mostly for the candy.  Some years it is so hot and others we have been cold.  This year was just about right, but really sunny, as you can tell from all the squinty eyes.  We usually go to the sunny side of the street since there are less people.

Parker trying to give me smile, but the sun was so bright.
Amy found this dress at DI.  She loves how twirly it is.  She received so many compliments from it.  She was definitely showing her 4th of July spirit.  So many people in the parade said they loved her dress.  She waas loving it.
 Amy picking up some candy.

Amy cheering and yelling, hoping for more candy.   I told her the louder she cheered the more she would be noticed and she would probably get more candy.

Fun day but exhausting

We had a great day today. We started the day with a trip to the kid's dentist for both of them, Grandma and Grandpa's house, and the library for the 4th of July celebration. Then we ended the day with our first bike ride together. I finally pulled out the tag-a-long that I bought when Amy was younger, but never used. Amy just learned how to ride a 2 wheeler in May so now the only one we have to worry about is Parker. It worked out great. Parker was attached to my bike and Amy rode ahead. I have to remind her to slow down a little. Having Parker shifting around in the back can throw my balance off a bit. We had a lot of fun. This is how I found Parker after he went to bed. He was so tired.

Amy's art

Amy won 3rd place in her school art contest.  She is quite the little artist.  It is one of her favorite things to do is draw and paint.

Grandma and Grandpa's new house

Grandma and Grandpa sold their house in Colorado in preparations for Grandpa's retirement.  He won't be retiring until March 2012, but the house sold faster than they had expected.  Grandma will stay her while Grandpa finishes up work in Colorado.  Grandma has plenty to do to keep busy.  It will be fun to have them so close.  We are looking forward to it.
