My little girl loves bugs

I never thought I would see the day that Amy would be talking to Rollie Pollies like they were really listening. On Tuesday she had to take a family of Rollie Pollies to school for show and tell, She had a daddy, mommy, and two kids (one was a baby.) Last year she smashed all bugs and this year she is treating them like her new pets. She picks them up and lets them crawl all over her. She wants me to hold them and I tell her, "No thanks! Mommy doesn't hold bugs." She tells me, "But aren't they so cute." I am thinking no way! I am not a big fan of touching any type of bugs if I don't have to. I can't wait to see what Parker wants me to hold when he gets bigger.

Amy swinging

Amy has learned how to pump her legs when she swings. It is great because we don't have to push her anymore. She told us that she could do this all day. Sorry the video is a little long and noisy from the wind. I haven't learned how to edit videos yet.

Amy's spotlight

Amy was spotlighted at school today. She was so excited last night that she could not get to sleep. She kept asking when it would be tomorrow. She was able to share some pictures of when she was a baby and her family. It was really fun for her. They invite the parents to visit during the spotlight.

Monkey see, Monkey do!

Parker loves his sister and tries to copy everything she does. I thought this was so cute.

Parker outside

Parker is almost impossible to keep inside now that the weather is warmer. (I really don't think he even minds the cold. He just wants to be outside.) He is constantly trying to get outside. Luckily the stick in the door slows him down a little. He loves it outside. These are some pictures from my mom's house. He knows how to open the door all by himself and if Parker is missing we look outside and there he is. I think it happened at least 5 times the other day.

No fear!

This scares his mom to death! He thinks he is a big kid though.

Easter week

We had a great Easter this year. My sister and her kids came from Rexburg and stayed the whole week. We had a blast hanging out with them. I have lots of pictures of the kids individually, but non of them all together. Bummer! I guess what do expect with 3-4 year olds and 3 almost 2 year olds. Not the easiest to get a group picture of. My mom had Easter dinner and a Easter egg hunt for the kids. The kids had a lot of fun. We miss Holly's family and hope they move back here after school is finished. Amy really misses her cousin.

Parker did not want to sit still for the pictures. He wasn't even really interested in the Easter egg hunt. He grabbed the first egg he saw and pulled out the candy and went to play. The rest of the kids were picking up eggs while Parker was playing. Look, Parker's bucket is empty and Amy's is full. Parker has a candy wrapper in his hand.

Easter morning: Parker was kinda in a daze. He was happy to get a Lighting McQueen car though.

Amy was thrilled to get a Tinker Bell doll.

How am I going to find a boy?

Amy was laying in bed with me this morning and she said Mom I think I want to marry you. She has now told me, at different times, that she is going to marry her dad and her brother. I told her that girls marry boys, and not boys in her family. She said, "But Mom, how am I going to find a boy?" I told her she will when she gets bigger. She is very concerned that she won't be able to find a boy. I thought the whole conversation was very cute and she was serious.

My creative little girl

Amy decided she needed some colored paper, scissors and tape to make something. This is what she made all by herself. It is a crown with all different colors on the headband. I thought it was pretty good considering I didn't even help at all. It even fit.

Trip to the zoo

On Tuesday we decided to go to the zoo to enjoy the nice weather. My mom and brother and his kids came with us. We had a lot of fun. The zoo has so many things to play on that I think the kids forget there are animals to see. Parker loved the animals. At one point we lost him while we were by the giraffe slide and my brother found him by the tigers. Kinda a scary to lose your child. I'm glad my mom and brother were there to help me find him. I think he was thinking he was done playing and I am going to check out the rest of this place.

Parker thought the ground hog tunnel was a blast.

Amy and Parker in the ground hog tunnel.

Amy posing for Chris. She wanted him to take her picture, not mom.

Parker was the only one that wanted to ride on a horse. Everyone else rode on the bench. Grandma had to ride with him, because that merry-go-round makes me sick. He would wave to me everytime he went past.

You can hardly see Amelia, but all three kids are on the bench with Chris. Amelia is on the inside.

Almost a shot with all three cousins, but where is Benjamin? I don't know the kid in the back :)

Parker's hair cut

I decided to cut Parker's hair today. This will be his 3rd hair cut. The 1st one, my sister helped me with and the 2nd was just me with pair of clippers and scissors. (Scary!) He stayed still through the clipper part, but he had very little patience for the scissors. I ended up having a few uneven parts. I have spent the last several months fixing little parts that seemed a little too long. I have been very tempted to just let someone else do it.

Well today I decided I better do it now so it has time to grow out a little before his birthday. It was getting pretty thick. He just needed a little trim, but I ended up cutting more than I wanted. I thought I was using a longer comb on the clipper, but it still turned out pretty short. I used the clippers on his whole head this time. He did a lot better. I think it is even. There is one part that is a little shorter, but overall I think it turned out pretty good. I am still not sure I should continue trying to cut my son's hair.

Parker before the haircut, doing what he loves to do. He loves to watch music videos on You Tube. His loves "Move it, Move it" and anything with the movie Cars.

Front view before the hair cut. He didn't smile because he just wanted the camera.
The final results after a bath to get all the hair off of him. He refused to wear a towel around him to keep the hair off of him.

My happy little boy.

Play dough cake

A couple of weeks ago Amy was playing with play dough and made Parker a birthday cake. She was very proud of it and wanted me to take a picture of it. Very creative. She even wanted me to pretend to take a bite. She tried to get Parker to take a bite and I had to tell her no, because Parker might actually take a bite. Yuck!
