Disneyland

We had our annual family trip to Disneyland October 9th through the 18th. We took a road trip and spent two days going down and two days coming back. We are thinking that next year we will most likely fly. It is a long trip in the car. Parker got car sick on the twisty park in Arizona going to Disneyland and coming home. Coming home we were a little bit more prepared for him to be car sick. Not a fun thing when you are stuck in a car for many hours. I am sure you can use your imagination. Amy and Parker are both good travelers though. They hardly complained and got along fairly well.

We were at Disneyland with all of David's siblings and their families. We had a lot of fun. It was fun for the cousins to play together. We are looking forward to next years family trip. It was also great to have Elizabeth surprise us. We didn't know that her and her family would be there for a few days. What a great surprise. We ended up spending six days at Disneyland, which was nice because we could do a little bit everyday. We even celebrated Amy's birthday while we were there. We went to Goofy's kitchen for her birthday.

Here are a few of the pictures we took. Parker and Amy both loved to see the characters. Parker kept giving them hugs and high fives. We were able to fill up both of their autograph books.

This picture was at a gas station in Utah.

Pumpkin Patch

Living in Kuna, Idaho we are lucky to have two Pumpkin patches and corn mazes within a couple of mile of our house. The kids really enjoy going. We were able to take the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch, let them run through the hay bale maze, bounce in the bounce houses and of course pick a pumpkin. This year we decided to go early in October and it was really nice weather. We didn't even need our coats until the sun went down. We went with Grandma and Grandpa and Holly, Hailey and Tyler.

Waiting for the hay ride to start. Almost everyone in the picture except Grandpa and Holly.

They both ended up picking little pumpkins, because they wanted to carry them all by themselves.

Amy testing the scooter

One of my co-worker's won a scooter. Amy had fun sitting on it, but when her fiance offered to give her a ride she didn't want any part of it. She really enjoyed the horn. It was really cute.

912 Rally

I had my first experience with a political rally on September 12th. My sister and her kids joined me. It was fun and wouldn't mind doing it again. My sister was able to get a lot better pictures, but she hasn't sent them to me yet. I will have to add them later. We marched down Capital Blvd to the Capital where there was a small program. I was happy to see others I knew at the rally. I think it is great to see people starting to get involved. We need to be united if we do not want to see the government take over in things they have no business getting into.

Amy's school has a newsletter that comes out once a month. One article was about the constitution. I really like this paragraph,

"A powerful central government can disrupt the right to choose our own destiny. If we allow the government to do things for us, we give government power to tell us what we must do. When we tell government to do things for some people, it must forcible take from other people because people produce--government produces nothing. When government extracts from some people to give to others, it issues a death warrant to individual liberty."

President Gerald Ford said, "A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have."

Amy's favorite skirt

Grandma and Grandpa G came to visit from Colorado in September. We all enjoyed having them visit and wished they lived closer. Amy was so happy to get a new skirt that she was able to pick out the fabric for. She is our little shopper and really enjoyed the trip to the fabric store. She bugged Grandma until it was done. She wears this skirt whenever it is clean. I have to be careful and not wash it too often or she would wear it every day. It is a twirly skirt.

State Fair

We love to go to the fair every year. Some of our favorite stops every year is the Ag Barn when they have these swimming pools filled with corn and grain. Parker really loved the tractors. This was not Amy's favorite this year. She didn't like the corn getting in her shoes. Parker quickly took his shoes off and climbed in.
This is the one of the few pictures I have of Amy this year and of course it is from the back of her. She was always on the move and didn't want her picture taken. She isn't always in the mood to have her picture taken and she is only 4. I can't wait until she is a teenager.

Amy and Parker has vegetables. Parker looks so tired in all these pictures. It was about 10:00 at night, which is way past his bedtime. We stayed until the fair closed which was 11:00.

I love those cheeks.

Farmer Parker and his cheese grin.

More cheese grin. He closes one eye like Popeye.

Parker loved the tractors and had to sit in every one. Amy didn't like that they were so high off the ground. She tried to sit in one, but quickly came off. She has always been a little scared of heights.

I wasn't too good at taking pictures this year. We also enjoyed the petting zoo among other things. They have the best petting zoo.

August Camping Trip

This August we were able to camping with our good friends Doug and Julie and their little boy. We had a lot of fun, but it was way too short. We went up to Grand Jean. It was a beautiful place and the kids had a lot of fun playing. There was creek that ran around the whole campground that we were able to play in both days. It was very hot for the mountains 95 degrees when we arrived at 4:30.

Doug and David after fixing everyone breakfast. Amy had the camera, I thought she did a great job.

This campsite that we picked had a ton of boulders. It was really cool in the daytime and the kids had fun playing on them, but at night it was quite dangerous. There was one rock by the picnic table that everyone would trip on. Not the best choice at night.

Amy took this picture of Parker and I. It is a little blurry, but I thought it turned out cute.

We had found this little lap desk at the DI before we came up camping. It has a place to put crayons and paper on the inside. She carried it everywhere she went. There was some kids next to us that were her age and she kept running over to play with them. Amy's questions every time we have camped is, "Where are all the people?" and "Who will I play with?" She was happy to see there were kids right next to us. We had to just make sure she didn't over stay her welcome. Her Daddy's idea of camping is to be as far away from people as possible.

Amy throwing rocks into the water.

In between throwing rocks both the kids enjoyed climbing on this old log.

David made is way out to this big boulder.

Here is almost everyone together. Parker and I are not in the picture. Amy was trying to get off when I tried to get the picture.
