Parker's surgery

On July 22 Parker went in to have his adenoids removed. He has had problems with his sinuses, pink eye and negative middle ear pressure for quite sometime. Dr. Beck said his adenoids were blocking 95% of his nasal passages. That was while taking a nasal steroids that was suppose to shrink them. Hopefully this surgery will help him feel better and his speech will start to sound clearer. His speech is hyponasal sounding and he can't breath out of his nose very well.

His surgery went really well. He didn't even cry once. He walked back with the anesthesiologist and breathed into the masked without fighting. The anesthesiologists told him they were going tell him a little story. So when I left him I told him, "Have fun buddy!" When he was walking out to the car he said to me, "Mom, that no fun!" He was quite the trooper he didn't cry even at the end.

They said he might get car sick on the way home. I told them that he gets sick really easily so they gave him another dose of the anti-nausea medication. He still threw up in the car. He was really groggy on the way home, but 5 minutes after getting home. He wanted to change into shorts and he was jumping on his bed and wrestling his sister.

He ate lunch and then I tried to give him some Tylenol with codeine, but he wanted no part of it. So I gave him just Motrin for the rest of the day. I don't even think he needed it. He didn't need anything the next day.

Waiting to go back to surgery.

Parker with Dr. Beck. She is a great ENT. I used to work with her a lot when I worked with Cochlear implants.

Parker with his cool pirates hat.
I didn't get any post surgery pictures, because Dad left with Amy because she was getting a little bored. I was busy holding Parker. We had planned on her going to Grandma and Grandpa's the night before, but she changed her mind and didn't want to.

Ward Camp out

We went to the ward camp out at Hot Spring camp ground. It was great weather and we had a lot of fun. I am not entirely sure it is worth all the hard work for one night, but it was still fun. Amy loves playing with all her church friends and I enjoy visiting with everyone.

Dad and the kids playing in the hot springs. This was one of the little pools.

This was on the main hot spring pool and the hottest.

4th of July parade

This year we went to the 4th of July parade on July 3rd. It was not a very warm day. We were all wearing jackets. What a contrast from previous years when we are sweating. The kids love to catch the candy. They ended up with a lot of candy. We also went to the fireworks that night, but I only took pictures on my phone and I can't find my mini SD card to read the pictures so they will stay on my camera until I can find.

Summer Zoo trip

My sister came to visit in June and we all went to the zoo together. Most of the pictures are of Parker because Amy was not wanting her picture taken. The one picture I have of Amy was taken by Birdeena. (Thanks Birdeena!) Parker was being a little ham though so he has lots of pictures. I decided to dress him in bright orange because he gets lost easy, but there were lots of little boys dressed in the same color. Ughh! I kept pretty good track of him though. I was also bummed we didn't get any pictures of the whole gang together.

Amy and Hailey on the carousel. They had matching hairdos and Holly and I did not plan it.

New Cousin

Amy and Parker met their new cousin when she was about a month old. Both of them couldn't wait to hold her. Amy blesses her ever night in her prayers. It is really cute. Now when we go to grandma and grandpa's house they ask if the baby will be there.

Fun at Grandma and Grandpa's

Grandma and Grandpa (in Meridian as the kids say) put a rock fountain in their backyard. Little did they know they were putting a water fun toy for the grandkids. The boys couldn't wait to play in it. They started playing in right away with their clothes on. The girls waited until after dinner when they had their swimming suits on.

Parker and and his cousin Benjamin playing in the fountain.

Amy trying to squirt the grown ups. Little stinker!

Amy and Parker posing for me. This is rare to get them both smiling and looking at the camera.

After the water fun they decided to push the younger cousins around in the wagon. Before this Parker was swinging naked but we missed the picture. Amelia was right next to him swinging but she at least had her underwear on. It was cute.

Free fishing day

We went to free fishing day again this year. Our friend Doug and his son came with us. The kids had fun once we started to catch fish. We took the advice of this random guy and he told us to go done the road to this other pond because the fish were biting there, but not at the fish hatchery pond. So we walked down there and had no luck and neither was anyone around us. So we decided to head back to the fish hatchery. We were not catching fish as quickly as we did last year, but we ended up catching 5 fish. Amy would have like to cast (she has been practicing and is pretty good), but there was way too many people and we were right under a tree. Only dad was successful at casting in this spot. It is fun to watch the kids. The fun doesn't last as long as dad would like though. He would have rather fished all day.

Amy at the first pond. No luck!
Parker and dad. Parker's favorite part was reeling it in.

Amy and Parker were fascinated by what dad was doing. Amy thought the fish like it and it was our friend.

Amy did not want to touch it or get too close.
